Today I wanted to quickly touch on something you're probably familiar with if you've seen us in...
Performx is NOT for Everyone
Every Friday we send out an email newsletter with funny stories, top health tips, and things coming up in the community. This was our newsletter from 1/10/25.
Happy Friday!
I've got some very disheartening news to report.... Our Christmas tree lost all of it's needles again. 🤦 (IFYKY)
We did everything we could to help it thrive, but for some reason it died once again & started shedding.
Almost more stressful than the tree losing it's needles, was what do I tell you guys? That despite our best efforts, we still failed? And how does this relate to taking care of our own health? 🫤
Then it dawned on me - our home must be a terrible fit for this species of tree.
So next year we need to stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and instead find the right type of tree species.
And so here we come to a (potentially surprising) core company belief we've always held - Performx is NOT for everyone.
Believe it or not, we send a lot of people away.
We are not what most people expect when they hear 'physical therapy' and if we're not the right fit, it's just going to be painful all the way around. (We spend a lot of time 1-on-1 with our patients - if we both know it's a bad fit then they're awful on both sides! 😬)
Our athletes are incredibly motivated, willing to work hard, want to be held accountable, and have pretty cool aspirations.
They understand the importance of being able to move well and just how valuable their health is.
We also send people in a different direction if they're needing a niche of physical therapy that we don't specialize in, or if they're needing a different speciality of healthcare all together.
You'll notice that the bottom of each of these emails we always include an invitation to Book a Discovery Call. ☎️ This our chance to see if we're the right fit for you and you're the right fit for us.
To learn about your story, your desires, and aspirations. ✨
To understand your current injury state and what led to it. 🩼
And only then can we offer our genuine advice on the next best step is for YOU - whether it's contacting a different Physical Therapy office in the Willamette Valley, scheduling a visit with your PCP, or coming in for an eval with us.
We will never pressure you into working with us. ❌
So to wrap this all up, my New Year pep talk for you is: if you're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole - stop.
Be willing to quit things that aren't working.
Be willing to invest the time, energy, and money to find the places, activities and hobbies that are the right fit for you.
Best,
Team Performx
p.s. If you do think we may be a good fit or just want some advice on where you should go, you can always book in a discovery call here.

Being BUSY is a form of LAZINESS
If you're using January as a platform to reset and spark productivity, then I highly recommend taking 7 minutes to watch this video by Tim Ferris (one of our favorites).
"What you do is more important than how you do everything else and doing something well does not make it important."
Here's a new morning routine 👇
